American Community Survey - 5-Year Averages

Special thanks to the Colorado State Demography Office for creating and sharing this application.

About the ACS

The American Community Survey (ACS) is a nationwide, continuous survey designed to provide communities with reliable and timely demographic, housing, social, and economic data every year. Information from the ACS help determine how trillons in federal and state funds are distributed.

Data from the ACS are published as one-year averages for areas with more than 65,000 people and five-year averages for all areas. Data in the five-year averages (used in the map above) are inflation-adjusted to the last year in the five-year range. More information can be found on the U.S. Census Bureau's ACS page at: https://www.census.gov/programs-surveys/acs/.
